What’s The Secret to Building a Better Booty?
The Answer: Lower Body Balancing Exercises
Focus on your balance as a foundation. You want to feel the burn, but you need to build from the ground up. A secret ingredient people often forget are balancing exercises. Incorporate balancing exercises into your routine a couple times a week.
In the video I am demonstrating one of my favorite booty blasting exercises: single leg deadlifts. Single leg deadlifts tighten and build the thigh and glutes (booty) muscles. Performing these in single-leg fashion adds the balancing element that incorporates extra muscles and muscle fibers into the movement and adds a little extra burn 🙂
Here are the steps:
- Stand straight on your left leg.
- slowly extend the right leg behind in alignment with your upper body like a teeter-totter.
- Slowly bring the leg back down and up towards the chest.
Don’t forget to focus primarily on your glutes, contracting at the top.
As an added bonus your whole body is engaged when maintaining proper balance. Not just the glutes, but the calves, hamstrings, lower back, and core are working together to keep you stabilized.
Perform 20 reps each leg for 2 rounds. Add in some small dumbbells for an extra burn…but, make sure to maintain proper form!!
